The shows lore on vampires. -Spoiler Alert -

SPOILER ALERT.

In the last featured episode of being human (28th february) At the end of the show, it showed Herrick being respawned from someones blood.
Meaning blood heals for vampires.

But, what i don't understand is that, in this show, when vampires die they turn to ash, and the vampire (forgot name) clearly said that the bones where here.

Greatly confused with the lore in the show now.

I think that when Vampires are killed with a stake then they turn to ash, like Lauren did.
But Herrick was killed by George as a wolf, ripped limb from limb, so perhaps his spirit or something survived in his bones?

More than likely.
But when the vampires where killed by jaggart and co. in the explosion, they turned to ash also.

Well... Ivan's body was still there after the explosion. He seemingly died of head trauma. Did they say the bodies turned to ash in a later episode? I can't remember... Herrick's head was ripped off... Perhaps that's why "staking" a vampire is the best method for killing them.

Actually Mitchell was stabbed with a stake in series one wasn't he? He survived though, so possibly if a vampire dies with a stake in them they will turn to ash. The explosion could probably kill the vampires, but as we see now, blood may bring them back like it did to Herrick. Do you find this valuable?

Yeah, could of had a bit more clearing up though.

One thing i don't understand though, is the fight scene with kemp.
Why did Nina allow herself to get caught by an old man. :x

Herricks bones were buried as he was savaged to death, not burned. It is within Vampire Law to reanimate using blood, have you never seen DRACULA HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE/SATANIC RITES OF DRACULA ( Hammer/Christoper Lee) and all the other various old school vampire movies where blood is used to heal/give life?
Turning to ash is classical and happens mostly through contact with sunlight, fire destroys and holy water and silver burn...So i'm told lol!

The show differentiates with many levels of traditional vampire lore, able to go out in sun for one.
So, I am not completely sure on how things work in this show :P

I guess the law just changes depending on many things but there are some basics that cross the board and as far as mythology goes it largelycomes down to culture and superstition. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Maybe they'll explain how it works in Series 3 - there are certainly quite a few variations on vampire accepted canon - but I suppose the writer can decide what he wants in and out as it's his story Do you find this valuable?

you would think the vamps would know that they can be ressurected via bloodbath and thusly burn all "dead vamps

what annoys me is the whole harmless sunlight thing

i like the idea of having tradeoffs like when you become a vampire there are positives and negatives and they seem to balance

you live forever but never live in daylight again
you are super strong but have an intense craving for blood
you heal quick but you can be killed by a chunk of wood
you can move fast but can be repelled by religious artifacts

werewolves
you get an enhancement in senses but you loose control once a month and will kill your best friend

the ghost is confusing since she can move items why cannot she just wear clothes and just have the invisible man's problems

she seems to be able to dissapear and reappear whenevr she likes except when a door to the afterlife is near
why cant she walk through walls

and as to the pressure chamber counter acting the gravitational tidal forces was about the most ridiculous inconsistant thing ive seen on the show how could an increase in air pressure interfere with gravity fluctuations

so say a werewolf was a scuba diver 90 feet down and changed they would rupture and bleed all over the place cause they seemed to only increase the pressure 2 or 3 more atmospheres

also if the pressure increase stopped the transformation shouldnt a reduction of pressure cause a transformation?
